Byers’ Leaf Guard gutters work beautifully
in snow and ice conditions.

Snow/Fire protection
Got snow? No problem – snow and ice slide right over the edge.

With conventional gutters, snow and ice can build up, prying the gutters loose. Built-up snow and ice can also form ice dams, which can cause water to back up under your roof. With Byers’ Leaf Guard, snow and ice roll right over the edge, just like debris does. The curved design minimizes ice build-up and ice dams, and gutters remain firmly in place.

In snow country, our infamous “Sierra cement” has little effect on Byers’ Leaf Guard systems, even in the heaviest winters. Soda Springs gets 400 inches of snow annually, and Byer’s Leaf Guard gutters keep on working. For those who like to use heat tape, Byers’ Leaf Guard is perfectly compatible.

Gutter debris can create a fire hazard.
Fire hazard: gutter debris
Gutter debris is a tinderbox around your roof! If you live in an area at risk for fire, you must be extra-vigilant about keeping your roof and gutters clean. Screens and cover devices that form a flat shelf at the edge of your roof can collect debris just like an open-top gutter, and can actually cause more debris to pile up behind it on your roof. All the more reason to protect your home and safety with Byers’ Leaf Guard. You’ll never have to worry about gutter debris catching fire, and you'll never have to risk your neck on a ladder cleaning your gutters.

Gutter protection is now required by some building codes
In wildland-urban interface areas, building standards issued by the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection and Office of the State Fire Marshall in 2007 require gutter protection on newly constructed homes. The code reads: “704A.1.5 Roof Gutters. Roof gutters shall be provided with the means to prevent the accumulation of leaves and debris in the gutter.” Byers’ Leaf Guard is the ideal solution for fire protection and weather protection for your home.
